I had the BEST weekend

I had the very best weekend in Loxton at a workshop organised by Trish at Almond Grove with Annie and Natalie.

Peta brought a friend with her the mother had been killed by a car and she was feeding this little fellow with a bottle she was no trouble at all when not having a bottle she was happy to hang around in a pillow case.

It was a great weekend now all I have to do is finish off what I started.

Some would call it madness

and at times I would have agreed but now it is finished it was all worth it.

Taken in sections because it is the length of a single bed.

The giraffe was popular at sewing.

They all had pink ballet shoes on.
The pattern is a Millamac pattern called "Dance like no-one is watching"

Knitted rabbit and bag to go with it.

I have caught the knitting bug after finishing Bailey the bear and stalking this lovely Blog. I bought Julie's little pattern here, I ordered the Debbie Bliss Knitted toys book from Fishpond and started playing. This is what I finished up with after a few attempts. I thank Julie for all the inspiration behind this little rabbit. I have tried to buy one of her originals but never seem to have fast enough fingers when they go up for sale.

Not happy with that......... I have had this bag in my head for a while so decided I needed a knitting bag to go with my little rabbit.

It has lots of room inside for all your bit and pieces. If your not a knitter then you can fill it with all your sewing stuff.

One side has a button pocket.

The other has a zip.

I am in the process of writing a pattern for the bag so when I have it just right I will have a give away.

My World Tuesday # 18 The Grampians

There was also a lot of emus in the paddocks but unlike the kangaroos I couldn't get that close.

As soon as I got close they were off.

My World Tuesday # 17 North Haven Beach

It is cold here in South Australia and fortunately we have had some rain but we still manage to get some lovely winter days.
We went for a walk on the beach at North Haven.

Lots of interesting things to see.

When I was young I loved playing in the seaweed piles...... these made perfect places to hide.

Perhaps they should have been at school but a surf sounded better.

Although it was sunny I was pretty confident we wouldn't run into one of these it was still rather cold.

Meet Bailey the Bear I knitted him over these cold nights we have been having. Winter has come to S.A. with a vengeance.
The pattern is from the Women's Weekly and is by Debbie Bliss.

This is more like his real colour.

The week that was

This is what I woke up to this morning - it was cold and foggy.

On Sunday a few girls come around for the afternoon for a bit of stitching and chatting I'm not sure what happened but no photos. It was a lovely afternoon where we all got a bit done - Amanda was especially pleased she finished these. Kris was finishing of a swap which was to be posted the next day and Sue was looking at the end of one of the inspired stitches projects. We decided it was a good way to get things done as we just sat and stitched no getting up to do other things around the house.

I have accomplished a few things this week.
Firstly I sorted my embroidery threads a very satisfying job. They had become very messing and I had different ones all over the house so they are now all sorted and back in one place.

I have quite a few.

In the car on the way to the Grampians I made this lovely Hexagon bag.
I really love it and unlike a lot of things I make........... it is for me....... to put my scissors, needles etc in.

- IT WAS COLD AND DAMP OUTSIDE.

I really enjoy paper piecing.
I did have a crazy thought while Tony drove and I merrily stitched away that I might like to make a quilt this way !!!!!!

My good friend Diana recently had a holiday in Japan I asked her if she had time, could she look for and perhaps buy me some craft mags.
I was very lucky in the fact she brought me back 3.

I made this little purse from one the other night.
I needed a new make up purse.

You can tell I'm right up there when it comes to make up.
